This is for all you pregnant ladies out there...
I was asked by a couple of pregnant friends the other day (they're both pregnant with their firsts) if I had any advice or words of wisdom to share about newborn baby care - in particular what to do when your baby won't stop crying. Since I was blessed with an "angel baby" the first time around, I had to really think hard about how often and for what reasons Momo-chan cried when she was tiny tiny. The only thing I could remember were those times when she had really bad gas, or was generally just colicky. In those cases, I'd give her a dropperful or so of this magic stuff called Gripe Water, which I'd bought in Canada along with her Avent bottles and my Avent breast pump (both items I'd also recommend). I surprised that neither Kat (an Aussie) nor Kirsten (an American) had ever heard of the stuff. Maybe it's just a secret only Canadian women tend to know about?
Apparently, there are a number of different recipes for the stuff. The kind I used: Kolik, manufactured in Canada, contains oil of Fennel and Sodium Bicarbonate.
Seriously, the stuff works ladies!
