Last Wednesday, I took a Cross Stitching workshop taught by the lovely Minato-san at the Rowan store. Of course I immediately became hooked, and have been x-stitching madly since then. I even took it to the next level by going out and spending lots o' dough on tools of the trade - like this handy-dandy fishing tackle box-like organizer (I'm such a geek!), and this wicked software called PC Stitch which lets you upload any image you want and it'll turn it into a Cross Stitch pattern for you!
Here are my first 3 projects:
This was our workshop project. It was good to learn how to add buttons and beads from the very beginning. It's actually going to be a bookmark that I'll probably give my Grandma for Christmas this year.
The bigger piece is a dragonfly for Momo, and the "N" is for my Mom.
It's been difficult trying to find "cool" Cross Stitching patterns. I bought Subversive Cross Stitching, by Julie Jackson, which just has a lot of F-this and F-that sayings instead of any unique graphics, which is kinda more what I'm looking for. That's why I decided to buy that software and make my own! I already have a bunch of ideas brewing...
So of course now that this has become my new obsession, I now have a really painful wrist on top of a sore forearm from knitting!
